Twitter reacts to Manchester United’s “dream” return to the Champions League group stage

PSV, CSKA and Wolfsburg

After a year away from the pinnacle of European football, Manchester United have secured their place in the group stages of the 2015/16 Champions League.

And it began with a sigh of relief at Old Trafford as the Red Devils avoided the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich and were matched with top seeded PSV Eindhoven which means a quick homecoming for United new boy Memphis Depay.

Louis van Gaal’s side have a long journey ahead of them when they visit CSKA Moscow while the trickiest tie of the bunch could arguably be both games against Bundesliga runners-up Wolfsburg although the German side could be less dangerous when Kevin de Bruyne’s expected move to Manchester City is finalised.

Most United fans were visibly delighted.

There were some cynics though.

The pessimists still thought that it was a tough group.

And rivals cursed United’s luck.
