Every team that drops out of the Premier League has at least one moment of complete ineptitude that stands as evidence against their survival.
And today might just have been that moment for Sunderland.
Desperately chasing an equaliser against title favourites Leicester, the Mackems squandered two glorious chances to level the match before Jamie Vardy’s second goal ended their chances in injury time.
Jack Rodwell’s skied shot from close range was the easier of the two, but it was Fabio Borini’s earlier effort that will stand the test of time.
The Italian was picked out in the box and attempted a first-time shot with his left foot which, rather than travel towards the target, instead rocketed straight up to clatter the striker in the face.
I can't even put into words how poor Borini was today. He looked Conference standard. Smashing the ball into his own face sums him up. #safc

Leicester pretty much won the title there. Also, Fabio Borini there proving that anyone can make it in the premier league.

Watching Borini makes me miss the days of watching Jon Stead.

Borini is just like the rest of us. He hates Tottenham as well.

The only thing more ridiculous than us paying £10.5 m for Borini is us finding someone to pay £10m for him.

Borini. Premier league footballer. Explain.
