OK, nobody jinx anything but Ilkay Gundogan’s move to the Premier League looks to have just gotten a shove in the right direction.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal, has officially turned down the opportunity to renew his contract at the Westfalenstadion.
The German international’s current deal runs up next summer and the club have failed in their multiple attempts to tie him down for the future as revealed through their Twitter and Facebook pages.

The Tweet essentially translates as “Borussia Dortmund and midfielder Gundogan will not work together in the Bundesliga beyond June 30, 2016.”
That leaves the door open for Premier League clubs to approach Dortmund this summer for the services of the 24-year-old and, with the Red Devils frontrunners for his signature, United fans will be pleased as punch with the news.
That being said, other European heavyweights such as Bayern Munich and Juventus are interested in the player so this could roll on for some time but this season looks like the last we’ll see of Gundogan in the yellow of Dortmund.
