The rumours are not dying down, but there are still far-fetched.

The Sun is a dog with a bone on this Neymar-to-United story.

If it turns out to be true, they will surely walk taller around their London Bridge Street offices.

This morning, the newspaper claims United are not going to flinch over Barcelona’s valuation of the Brazilian.

It will cost United £130m (€177m) to take Neymar off Barca’s hands and another £75m (€102m) salary, over five years, to keep him cosy.

Expect a Neymar pay-rise from Barcelona to finally put this tale to bed.

Another transfer that is looking highly unlikely is Karim Benzema to Arsenal, or anyone for that matter.

The French striker was so peeved at stories linking him with a move away from Real Madrid that he released a short statement via Twitter.

Looks like a ‘come and get me’ plea if ever we saw one.

The Daily Mirror have been quick to respond to the impudent thumbs-up.

They claim that Arsenal have already moved on and are now keen to bring in PSG’s Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani before the transfer window closes.

West Ham manager Slaven Billic is desperate to add some pace, and attacking threat to his team.

To that end, he has targeted Chelsea winger Victor Moses, Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon and Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj. Getting in two of that three would representing a couple of coups. [Evening Standard]

Sky Italia are reporting that Inter Milan have agreed to pay Tottenham €6m to take Argentine attacker Erik Lamela on loan for a season. If they like what they see, they will pay Spurs a further €14m to make the switch permanent next season.

There were reports, last night, that United are now after Wolfsburg’s Kevin de Bruyne. You can read all about that here.

Finally, United appear to have ended any interest in Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

The Dutch No.1 commented, ‘As far as I know it has never been a thing. I, the club, or my agent have never heard anything. As for me, this season begins and ends at Ajax.’
