Simon Mignolet’s days as Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper could be numbered.
Brendan Rodgers has his eyes set on Fiorentina stopper Neto and the player’s agent has confirmed the Merseysiders’ interest.
Liverpool will have to fight off bids from Real Madrid though, as the La Liga club look for a long-term replacement for the inconsistent Iker Casillas and see the 25-year-old Neto as the perfect candidate. (Daily Star)
Another European club with their eyes on Neto is Paris Saint-Germain but the French outfit could let him slip through their hands if they get the man atop their wishlist, Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.
The French captain looks likely to move on from White Hart Lane in the quest for regular Champions League football which is something that PSG can offer.
Spurs have insisted that the 28-year-old goalkeeper doesn’t have a release clause in their contract but would be willing to let Lloris go for a fee of around €20 million if the North London side fail to finish in the top four of the Premier League. (Daily Mirror)
One of the more unexpected transfer tales today comes with the suggestion that Jose Mourinho is interested in taking Arsenal’s Theo Walcott to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are monitoring the contract negotiations of the England international and will be ready to pounce in the summer if he stalls on a new deal. (The Times)
One of the longer-running (to the point of becoming irritating) transfer rumours comes in the form of Mats Hummels proposed move to Old Trafford.
The German international has sent out some mixed messages about his future this week. Initially Hummels claimed that if he was to leave Borussia Dortmund that it would only be for Manchester United but the 26-year-old defender then took to Twitter to clarify that he had made no promise to join the Reds.
All things considered, though, don’t be surprised if you see Hummels pulling on a red jersey come August as the struggles of Dortmund this season will like urge him to move. (The Telegraph)
Um es klarzustellen: dieses vermeintliche “Versprechen” ist einfach nur frei erfunden…und das ist noch die freundliche Formulierung.

And finally, moneybags Manchester City are reportedly preparing bids for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling and Wolfsburg’s Kevin de Bruyne in the summer.
The reigning Premier League champions have been off the pace in this campaign and want to enhance their squad with a significant bid for Sterling who is currently stalling on a new contract at Anfield.
Meanwhile Manuel Pellegrini is very keen on the performances put in by de Bruyne since the Belgian moved to Wolfsburg from Chelsea last January. (Daily Mirror)
