It looks like Simon Mignolet’s days as Liverpool number one could be coming to an end.

After the Reds missed out on Victor Valdes reports today suggest that Brendan Rogers is finally fed up with his feeble Belgian netminder. Fiorentina’s Neto (great name for a keeper) is being linked with a move to the Premier League with the Brazilian’s contract with the Serie A side expiring in  2015.

We think its definitely Mignolet and not Brad Jones that should be worried. (Daily Mail)

Goal shy Arsenal are in the market for a striker to compliment Alexis Sanchez and Mattia Destro could be close to a move to London. With Lukas Podolski failing to hit the proverbial barn door with a banjo Arsene Wenger is targeting the the Roma hitman. The Gunners could have a fight on their hands to land him however with Chelsea also sniffing around the 22-year old.(Daily Star)

AS Roma v Indonesia U23 - Friendly Match

The world’s most expensive footballer could be on his way back to to England. Chelsea might be able to splash the cash to get Gareth Bale back from Spain.

Manchester United were believed to be the front runners to take the Wales star back to the Premier League but the lure of the London once again over wet and grey Manchester (or so we’re told) might tip it in the Blue’s favour. (Daily Express).

Wales Training Session

Michael Carrick isn’t likely to be going anywhere come the summer time if his own statements are to be believed. His deal at old Trafford runs out in the summer but even he admits there isn’t set to be a queue for his signature.

The 35-year old is set to pen a new 12-month deal at Old Trafford after admitting when asked if he would stay with Louis Van Gaal’s side “Of course. I’ve got nowhere else to go.”( Manchester Evening News)

Now there’s honesty for you, and a bit of realism from the England man.
