Stephen Hunt hit the airwaves today to try to clarify those comments he made about GAA players at the weekend. According to Twitter, he did not help matters with the interview.
Hunt pissed off just about everyone involved in the GAA at the weekend by implying that Gaelic footballers wouldn’t be able to hack the professionalism of the Premier League. The exact direct quote was, “If GAA players tried to live with the level of commitment shown by a professional footballer, they wouldn’t know what hit them.”
Hunt was interviewed on 2FM’s sport show Game On tonight in relation to those comments about GAA players. Here’s how Twitter reacted to the interview.
Dear Stephen Hunt, until Gaa players are professional they cannot be compared to soccer players who get paid for a living, idiotic stuff.

Stephen Hunt is dead right with what he said. There is no way an amateur player would be able to have the same commitment as a pro
