We’re getting very close to the moment of truth.
The Credit Unions are bracing themselves for an avalanche of “home improvement” loan applications on Monday, with half the country planning on making the trip to France next summer for Euro 2016.
First though we have to find out who the Republic of Ireland will face in the group stages. The draw was not kind to us four years ago as we drew reigning world and European champions Spain, eventual finalists Italy and also Croatia, but with an extra eight teams in the hat this year it should be slightly more forgiving.
We asked you to give us your preference and there was very clear preference to draw our near neighbours England from the first seeds. Second seeds Ukraine were also a popular choice, along with the third pots ugly ducklings Hungary.
5pm is the moment of truth. Who do we want in the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2016 group?

The folk over on Twitter were similarly inclined towards Roy Hodgson’s boys and the Magyars.
