Stockport County coach Andy Mangan is set to join Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, as per The Athletic.
Mangan, who has been working as an assistant coach at Stockport Country since July, has been chosen due to his close relationship with Ancelotti's son, Davide, who is an assistant manager in Madrid.
Carlo and Davide were understood to be looking for an English coach with experience in the English Football League and Mangan fits the profile.
A trusted figure recommended by Davide, Mangan is waiting for his work permit.
Mangan made more than 300 appearances as a player, in England's third, fourth and fifth tier for the likes of Fleetwood Town, Wrexham and Tranmere Rovers.
During his time as a Stockport coach, Mangan has been credited for his impact on the attackers and as a result a surge up the league table.
