PIC: Steven Gerrard finally gets to show off his 700th game boots

Let's hope they've got some anti-slip technology

Steven Gerrard never struck us as one to be overly sentimental but he seems quite happy with the fact that adidas are set to honour his 700th Liverpool appearance with these boots.

Denied the chance to don the new kicks against West Ham, last weekend, Gerrard has been named in the Reds’ starting line-up to face Bolton in tonight’s FA Cup 4th round replay.

The Reds captain made his first-team debut on 29 November 1998 with a substitute appearance against Blackburn and 699 games later, he is thought to be one of the greatest Liverpool players to ever pull the famous jersey on.

Gerrard, who is set to leave Anfield for L.A. Galaxy at the end of the season, is currently third in Liverpool’s all-time appearance stakes behind Jamie Carragher (737) and Ian Callaghan (857).

Unless a loan deal takes place, this season could very well be the last we see of the former England captain who will be hopeful that his last game for Liverpool comes in the FA Cup final at Wembley on 30 May, the same day he turns 35.
