Stephen Hunt is back in football.
The former Republic of Ireland international has signed a short-term deal with Coventry City.
Hunt, who has 39 caps for Ireland, has been without a team since the end of last season, when his contract expired at Championship side Ipswich Town.
However, the 34 year old has been training with Coventry recently, and has been offered a deal by the League One side after a successful trial.“I’ve really enjoyed the training and the atmosphere around the club,” Hunt told The Coventry Telegraph.
“It’s a great place to come into and delighted to sign a deal. I’m really looking forward to it as Tony Mowbray is an attacking manager and I’ve done really well previously under managers who try and play the same way.”
Coventry are currently fourth in League One, four points behind Burton Albion, and recently completed the signing of Joe Cole on a permanent deal.
