These stats would even make bad reading for Anderson.
Olivier Giroud was sent-off before half-time for Arsenal in their Champions League tie away to Dinamo Zagreb.
The French striker picked up two completely avoidable yellow cards and you’ll struggle to see a more pointless sending-off this season.
However, Giroud’s 40 minutes on the field in Croatia was already one to forget. These are stats even former Manchester United midfielder Anderson would be disappointed with.

Naturally, Giroud had plenty of sympathy on social media.

Giroud is becoming an albatross for Arsenal. The reliance on him, the criticism he draws for himself and Wenger, the red card tonight.

This is all Giroud's fault. The stupid bloody dreamboat.

4 – Olivier Giroud is the fourth Frenchman to be sent off for Arsenal in the CL, after Grimandi, Sagna and Vieira. Rouge.
