It’s not often this season that Liverpool fans have had the opportunity to breathe a sigh of relief at an injury update.
But that time may finally have come as early reports indicate that Mamadou Sakho has not ruptured his cruciate ligament.
The Reds defender limped out of Liverpool’s home defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday after landing awkwardly in an aerial challenge and injuring his knee.
But Andy Hunter of The Guardian has revealed that early scans show that the French international has not “suffered a long-term cruciate problem.”
Further inspection on Sakho’s knee is expected on Tuesday when the full length of his lay-off will become clearer but it’s looking like Jurgen Klopp may have escaped another injury blow this time around.
