When it comes to discussing the potential replacements for Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, three names top the list: Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Ryan Giggs.
Given that Carlo Ancelotti has already signed a deal with Bayern Munich and Diego Simeone is apparently being lined up by Chelsea, there aren’t many ‘elite’ managers left to choose from.
But that hasn’t stopped some United fans taking an alternative view of who could follow the beleaguered Van Gaal in the Old Trafford hot seat.
It was only a few days ago that Alan Pardew was being put forward as a serious contender, and now Mark Hughes is receiving plenty of praise after leading Stoke to a 2-0 victory over his former club.
How come we haven't considered Mark Hughes as the next united manager? He was brought up the UTD way and is experienced in the #premiership

In days gone by a manager like Mark Hughes would have been a strong contender for United job – he won't even get a mention.

Hughes’ links to Man City may mean he faces a few obstacles from United fans…
Why is Mark Hughes never mentioned as a prospective united manager ? Please dont mention city !
