Sergio Aguero’s heroic performances for Manchester City this season were rewarded last night as he was voted the Football Supporters’ Federation Player of the Year.
The Argentinian striker was part of a shortlist that included team-mate Yaya Toure as well as Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Branislav Ivanovic, Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling and Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
But it was Aguero who got the nod, having already netted 12 times in the Premier League and five more times in the Champions League.
Plus a hat-trick against Bayern Munich was never going to do his chances any harm.
