Ronald Koeman has played down any chance of Shane Long joining Liverpool, or anyone, during this transfer window.
The Republic of Ireland striker was linked with
a surprise move to Jurgen Klopp's side over the past few days, and the rumours were seemingly given more credence when the Saints signed Charlie Austin from
Queens Park Rangers.
Koeman didn't make direct reference to Long leaving the club following yesterday's 3-0 over West Brom, but stated that he doesn't expect any of his strikers to exit the club.

"Charlie Austin has not been signed to replace anyone," the Southampton manager said.
"In the summer you never know what happens, but the message is consistent and clear. No player leaves in this transfer window."
That settles that, then.
