Richard Keys has had another dig at a Sky Sports pundit

Since when did Jamie Redknapp become the new Eamon Dunphy?

HBO need to make a series about this

It seems the Jamie Redknapp isn’t as bland as you may have originally thought. Jose Mourinho’s beef with the pundit is well established, and now Richard Keys has took aim… again.

The former Sky Sports presenter has said his one-time colleague is a bit of a hot-head, who lacks ‘objective’, before taking aim, once again, at the broadcaster itself.

Writing on his blog, ‘Your key to Sports‘ (and the word ‘key’ is an actual picture of a key), the current beIN Sports presenter said that Mourinho’s issue with Sky Sports stems from Redknapp, and Keys isn’t surprised.

‘I lost count of the times I had to calm him [Redknapp] during the many occasions I worked with him. There’s a guy at Arsenal can thank his lucky stars there was glass between him and Redknapp the night of the 4-4 v Spurs [in 2008] at the Emirates’.

‘Jamie lost the plot completely. He wanted to fight him. It was the last time we let him work on a game that one of his Dad’s teams was playing in. He would often get too close to individuals he liked, or not, and couldn’t offer objective opinions’.

Keys also had his say on Mourinho’s appearance on Sky Sports on Sunday morning, while continuing his fight against the broadcasters, who are apparently second only to Illuminati for levels of shadiness.

‘So Mourinho turns up Sunday morning on Sky Sports. My first question was ‘what is a highly paid BT ambassador doing on Sky?’ A quick call or two later and I had the answer; It was all pre-arranged’.

‘It was a decision made at the ‘highest’ levels of the broadcaster and Chelsea as they tried to clear the air after recent problems between the two, started by something Jamie Redknapp said I’m told. I don’t know for sure because I’m busy doing my own job when he’s on air’.

Football Extravaganza‘Another of Mourinho’s complaints is the ‘allegations’ bandied about by the same broadcaster. He’s right. And he’s right about the ‘judge and jury’ element of Sky Sports News’.

Keys warned of ‘dark forces’ at play in Sky Sports after he resigned in 2011, when he and Andy Gray were caught making sexist remarks off-air. Redknapp was present, but Keys later implied the pundit was as implicit in the exchange as he or Gray.

‘Smash it’ and ‘hanging out of the back of it’, were both phrases I can give him ownership back of,’ Keys last year.

‘His contribution to the conversation which was carefully edited out of the tape that was floated in order to cause me maximum damage will prove that’.

So there you have it, Redknapp is the most controversial football pundit around, Sky Sports is run by ‘dark forces’ and Richard Keys is not bitter, not bitter at all.
