Zlatan Ibrahimovic is shaping up to be Manchester United’s knight in shining armour this summer.
The Sweden legend has been linked with a move to Old Trafford following the expiry of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, but United fans hoping to see the the 34-year-old at the club were disappointed to learn that manager Louis van Gaal wasn’t interested.
But Sky Sports have claimed the striker has called Van Gaal’s bluff, putting the ball firmly back in Ed Woodward’ court.
Ibrahimovic is also being courted by clubs in China, but it is understood he would rather join United, believing he can still be effective in the Premier League for another couple of seasons, but only on the condition that Van Gaal is no longer in charge of the team.
We reckon that’s a swap most United supporters would be only too happy to make, and would give local rivals City an excuse to break out this giant billboard again.
