The Premier League could be about to get a whole lot cooler.
According to reports in France, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is so sure that he will be joining Manchester United alongside Jose Mourinho this summer that he is already preparing for life in England.
We’re not quite sure how he is preparing for life in England – maybe he’s studying roundabout etiquette, boning up on the industrial revolution or just trawling through trashy magazines to find out what really is the deal with Cheryl Whatsherface’s relationship with the fella out of One Direction.
But whatever way he’s doing it it, Zlatan is getting ready because Le Sport 10 claim that Mourinho has already contacted the Swedish captain about a move to Old Trafford, although there is still no official guarantee yet that he will get the job.
Over the weekend, it was reported that the Manchester United board had decided that Ryan Giggs should be the man to replace Louis van Gaal if he leaves at the end of the season.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid’s reluctance to put his trust in youth is said to be the sticking point of United’s cabal of wise men. Men who are so clued into what is right for Manchester United that they thought David Moyes was the best man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.
Whatever the rumours, it would take a brave person to bet against Mourinho being in the dugout at Old Trafford next season.
Fans are behind the move, for the most part, and neutrals are dying to see Mourinho take on his old arch-nemesis Pep Guardiola in the same City.
Through Jurgen Klopp into the mix, along with (probably) Antonio Conte at Chelsea and Arsene Wenger at Arsenal and next season promises to be an epic battle of managerial superpowers.
So make it happen, Manchester United. And throw Zlatan into the mix while you’re at it.
