Robin van Persie appears to have played his last game for Manchester United.
According to The Guardian, the Dutch striker is currently in Istanbul, has agreed personal terms with Fenerbache and all that remains is for the club to agree a fee with Manchester United.
Van Persie will sign a four year deal.
The 31 year old signed for United in 2012 from Arsenal, and had a stunning debut season as the club won their twentieth league title.
Since then, however, Van Persie’s form has declined, first under David Moyes and then last season when Louis van Gaal took charge.
The Guardian claim Van Persie’s wife was initially reluctant to move to Turkey, but has been convinced following a week in the city. While Dirk Kuyt, Van Persie’s former international teammate, was key in convincing the striker to move to Fenerbache.
The former Liverpool striker spent three years at the club.
This time last year Van Persie was the favourite to be the new United captain, but now looks to have played his last game for the Red Devils. The Dutch striker scored 57 goals in 105 games for the club.
