REPORT: Jurgen Klopp will let Joe Allen leave Liverpool on one condition

All change

Letting Joe Allen go would perplex many Liverpool fans.

The Welsh midfielder is enjoying a couple of weeks off after his Euro 2016 heroics but his club future may be sorted for him by the time he heads back to Liverpool.

According to The Telegraph, Allen is wanted by six clubs after impressing for Wales at the European Championships. Swansea, Southampton and Sevilla are among those interested and there has been an enquiry by a Russian side.

Liverpool have already rejected an £11m bid for the 26-year-old from Swansea and are said to be looking for £14m before parting ways with him. Allen has just a year left on his contract but Liverpool’s resolve has been stiffened by his Euro 2016 exploits.

Jurgen Klopp will allow Allen to leave on one condition, however. He is keen to get in Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Monchengladbach and, if he gets his way, will recoup some of that transfer fee with the sale of Allen.

Dahoud, born in Syria and raised in Germany, scored five goals in 32 appearances with the Bundesliga club last season. He made his Germany U21 debut earlier this year.

Asked about ‘Mo’s’ future, Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl replied:

“Of course we are trying to get Mo to sign a new deal. But he has attracted a lot of interest. That makes it a difficult matter for us.”

Liverpool would have to pay in the region of £20m to get Dahoud in the door as he is signed up with Monchengladbach until 2018.
