You know the England situation is bleak when Gareth Southgate begins the betting as favourite.
So it was, last night, and so it is again today.
England are out of Euro 2016, Roy Hodgson will not be staying on and Martin ‘not a football man’ Glenn will be part of a three-person panel to find ‘the best man for the job’. Hard luck ladies.
Over the coming days and weeks, candidates will emerge to lead England towards the 2018 World Cup and even more will distance themselves from the poisoned chalice.
Earlier today, we brought you the story of Harry Redknapp putting forward the name of ‘Tactics’ Tim Sherwood to lead the Three Lions. Redknapp himself would provide the mentoring while Sherwood got to grips with motivating his troops.
Harry Redknapp's choice for next England manager is brilliantly bonkers https://t.co/d2NF66lTaZ

The reaction to Sherwood’s name being linked with England’s national team must have elicited a harsh reaction as Redknapp appears to have found a new, whiter knight.
According to Jim White, thus according to Sky Sports News, Redknapp has reached out to the people that need to be reached. He is ready and willing to serve his country.
As if that was not enough, Redknapp is happy to sharing the coaching duties with former England boss Glenn Hoddle.
I understand Harry Redknapp would welcome the opportunity to speak to the FA and would partner up with Glenn Hoddle #ENG

The former Swindon and Chelsea boss was in charge of England at the 1998 World Cup but left under a could of controversy, a year later, after unfortunate comments about reincarnation and the disabled.
Surely England are not in so much trouble that they don’t have to turn to Redknapp and Hoddle? It would certainly be entertaining.
