Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan gave his side an early lead in Saturday’s match with Juventus after firing in a thunderous volley to open the scoring.

After Juventus failed to deal with an Inter corner, winger Matteo Politano kept the ball alive and soon lofted a pass over to Nainggolan who cracked a first time volley past Wojciech Szczęsny and inside the far post.

Inter currently sit five points adrift of second placed Napoli and Nainggolan indicated that his side still aim of reeling Carlo Ancelotti’s side in with just over a month to go in the season.

“It’s always been a special match for me, Juventus are a team that you want to beat,” Nainggolan told DAZN.

“For us, it’s an important match in terms of the league table, and we need to win. Not long remains, for us it’s all about achieving our objective. We’ve taken an important path where we haven’t been without our difficulties.

“As for me, I hope to keep on improving – including physically – and be in top form so I can demonstrate the very best of what Nainggolan has to offer.”
