Everyone’s a bloody comedian.
As Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge failed to see out the 90 minutes against Sunderland on Monday, his first start since October, football supporters rushed for their Twitter apps as they just had the best joke ever on the tips of their fingers.
“Daniel Sturridge is injured… Water is wet.”
Get it?
At the time of writing, we don’t know the severity of the knock picked up by the injury-prone striker but it’s a shame considering his recent form, having scored in two of the Reds’ last three games.
And with Sadio Mane off to the Africa Cup of Nations after the 2-2 draw with the Black Cats, the familiar sight of Sturridge on the sidelines will come as a concern to Jurgen Klopp who we’re certain will not have seen the funny side of the joke doing the rounds.
