We’re not even close to forgetting about Jonathan Walters and his hold-up heroics.
The Stoke forward will still be haunting the dreams of Toni Kroos and Jonas Hector, the pair of Germans who were held off as Walters fought to protect the ball in the dying minutes of Ireland’s historic 1-0 victory over Germany in the Aviva last month.
And the iconic image of him putting his body between men and ball near the corner flag on 8 October has inspired one creative clothes designer to plaster it on the front of a t-shirt.
You can buy the top at RedBubble.com and it comes in a range of seven colours so you can celebrate Super Johnny Walters on every day of the week.
Brian Quinn designed the shirt to pay tribute to Walters’ performance which cemented our play-off place.
Quinn said: “We’re all riding a wave of Euro-phoria, thanks largely to one man: Jon Walters.
“In his honour, I have designed a t-shirt immortalising one of his finest moments in a green jersey.
“Rather than either of his fantastic strikes against Bosnia I have chosen his selfless ushering of the ball towards the corner flag in the dying moments of the Germany game. A true warrior.”
It comes in hoody form for the winter and, for next summer in France, he’s even thought of tank tops. The flippin’ genius.
