PIC: Twitter troll tricks West Ham chairman into wishing Harry Kane a happy birthday

He's been absolutely done

Darragh Murphy

We hope that David Gold puts more research into his club than he does for opposition players.

The West Ham joint chairman was caught out by an online prankster who managed to fool the businessman into wishing a young Harry Kane a happy birthday.

The tweet asked for Gold to send his regards to the tweeter’s “son” Harry who is a “die hard hammer” and, being the nice guy he is, Gold responded.

The only problem is that the accompanying picture clearly shows a young Harry Kane, the in-form forward who won and scored a penalty against Gold’s West Ham last month.

Hard to give Gold too much grief because he’s busy making millions while those on Twitter seek to play tricks on him but we did enjoy a little chuckle at this.

Gold has since been made aware of his little oopsie and deleted his tweet, but not before this perspicacious writer could grab a screenshot of it.
