The Scottish football team have had an awful day.
Gordon Strachan’s men lost to Georgia 1-0 in Tbilisi, surrendering their hold on third spot in Group D, and opening the path for Ireland the take the play-off place for Euro 2016.
Ireland’s Celtic cousins failed to score for the first time in 20 fixtures, a run stretching back over two years, and now face an arduous task to qualify for their first international tournament in 18 years.
They also host world champions Germany on Monday.
So naturally the Scottish press were downbeat following the Georgia game.
The Scottish Sun’s backpage summed up the national team’s misery with this effort, with their headline a play on Georgia’s capital city Tbilisi.
