Pic: Ryan Giggs wasn’t happy with a fan who stole Bastian Schweinsteiger’s water bottle

If looks could kill

This first Premier League game of the season wasn’t exactly a thriller.

Manchester United beat Spurs 1-0 at Old Trafford, but the game was short on action, excitement and incident, and was so boring it pushed one United fan to drastic measures to entertain himself.

He stole Bastian Schweinsteiger’s water bottle.

Those three points you earned on Saturday are tainted, Louis van Gaal. Look at what has become of this poor fan.

Here we see the new German midfielder on United’s bench during the game.  bastian bottleBut as soon as Schweinsteiger leaves his seat to warm up, the fan, driven to despair by the dull game, took his chance, and swiped the water bottle.CMCWWC9WgAAA7qOHere he is with the water bottle, proudly showing it off. Congratulations bored fan, another man’s plastic bottle is now yours, and no-one caught you in the act.

Or did they?CMCWWJ6WIAElwJ_Ryan Giggs did.

But the United assistant manager gives the bottle thief a look that suggests he’s also bored by the game, and can fully relate to his frustration.

Or that he can’t understand why someone would take another person’s bottle of water, photograph it and then photograph him while he’s looking directly at the camera.

We can’t until this is turned into a film.
