When Robert Lewandowski crashed to the ground during last Tuesday’s German Cup semi-final against Borussia Dortmund it looked as if the Bayern Munich striker was in a bad way.
The resulting diagnosis of a broken nose, broken cheekbone and concussion suggested that his season was at a premature end.
But, less than seven days later, as Bayern head to the Nou Camp to face Barcelona in Wednesday night’s Champions League semi-final first leg the striker seems to have made a miraculous recovery.
Lewandowski has barely a scratch on his face and is set to start against Barca in a specially made mask that has left Pepe Reina calling him ‘El Zorro’.
