There's still time though JT

Captain, Leader, stat king.

John Terry will never win a popularity contest among football fans, but it’s very difficult to deny he’s one of the best defenders around.

The Chelsea captain has been an ever-present all season for the league leaders, and this graph shows how valuable he is for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Terry is has improved in these key areas. On average winning more tackles and headers per games, committing less fouls, getting in more blocks and even scoring more goals. He’s also fouling less and has even improved his strike rate.

Basically, he’s having a great season.

It’s no wonder Jose Mourinho is ready to hand the 34 year old a contract extension, and England’s defence suffered without him as last summer’s World Cup.

He has dropped off over the past two seasons in one particular area though.
