Ander Herrera does it again.
The Manchester United midfielder continued his excellent recent form with two classy goals for Louis van Gaal’s side in this 3-1 win over Aston Villa, moving them temporarily past neighbours City.
United didn’t have as easy an afternoon as the score might suggest. Villa pulled a goal back through Christian Benteke – from a shot that David de Gea will be disappointed not to save – a minute or so after Wayne Rooney had doubled the home side’s lead, making for a nervy last 10 minutes.
However, Herrera wrapped up the points for United in stoppage time and a top four place looks more secure.
