We actually can’t picture Jonathan Walters playing in the Premier League in anything other than Stoke’s candystripes.
Walters has appeared over 200 times for the Potters since signing from Ipswich in 2010 and has found the net 50 times.
But with the Barcelonification of Stoke’s attack Walters is no longer guaranteed a starting place as Xherdan Shaqiri, Ibrahim Afellay and Bojan are all likely to be favoured by Mark Hughes while Mame Biram Diouf seems to be the preferred front man.
Norwich are understood to have made an approach for the Republic of Ireland international but the initial bid of £1.5 million (€2 million) was turned down immediately.
If the Canaries do return with an improved offer and acquire the services of Walters, he would join forces with international teammates Wes Hoolahan and Robbie Brady, who arrived this summer from Hull, as Alex Neil looks to keep Norwich from dropping straight back to the Championship.
