The next Jack Grealish?
Noel King has named his squad for upcoming Ireland Under-21 friendlies against two English representative sides.
King has named three SSE Airtricity League of Ireland players – John Kavanagh, Lee Desmond and Sean Hoare – in his squad for the matches, in early June, against England ‘C’ and Under-21.
The most intriguing selection is 18-year-old Belgian goalkeeper, Liam Bossin.
Signed up with Anderlect, Bossin, who’s mother is Irish, has already played second division football in his native country.
Having played for Anderlecht U21s against AC Milan, last year, Ireland U19 boss Paul Doolin called him up for his Irish representative debut. Turning 19 this July, Bossin, of course, will not be a full fledged Irish player until he plays a senior competitive international.
At the time, Doolin commented, ‘Liam is interesting. He was recommended to us by the Anderlecht youth academy coach Jean Kindermans.’
Ireland fans will be pleased when they hear who Bossin’s footballing idol is – Manuel Neuer.
