Newcastle fans close to tears as they lose star player of the Alan Pardew era

Heartbroken

We all know how much Newcastle fans miss their former manager Alan Pardew.

They long for the days when the silver fox was in charge at St James’ Park.

One of the stars of Pardew’s tenure was midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who won fans over with his consistency and end product.

They’ve always loved him, almost as much as they loved Pards.

So when the Frenchman impressed at Euro 2016, they were concerned that it might mean the end of his time in the North East.

It looked for a long while like he might stay, only for Everton and Tottenham to both make late moves for the midfielder, much to the dismay of the Toon Army.

Tottenham won out in the end, agreeing to part with a reported £30m, but that felt low for such a star performer.

Really low.

Now it’s time for Newcastle supporters to work out how they can possibly replace a man who has been so integral to their success since joining the club.

Transfer deadline day can be a cruel time for fans of Championship clubs, with Premier League vultures circling for their biggest talents, so we can only applaud the Magpies faithful for keeping their emotions in check.
