New football game ‘UFL’ looks to rival FIFA and eFootball

The release date for UFL has not yet been released

Though FIFA 22 is dropping on October 1, there is a new kid on the block, and its name is UFLUnited Football League.

The game is being produced by Strikerz Inc, a company that launched in 2016 with a focus on online football. The game itself is being developed with the Unreal Engine. They have also partnered with FIFPRO, the world’s biggest representative organisation for 65,000 professional footballers.

Dubbed as ‘a revolutionary new global online football league’, UFL offers a pool of 5,000 licensed players.

The game has been in development since 2016, and will use sports performance analysis company InStat to ‘provide detailed data and up-to-date statistics for each player’. Like eFootball (formerly Pro Evolution Soccer), the base version of UFL is expected to be free-to-play.

The game itself will reportedly be focused on skill rather than money, with UFL looking to scrap the ‘pay to win’ aspect of many football games.

Per UFL‘s tweet, the game itself is still in development and has not yet got a release date.

It will release on ‘all major gaming consoles’ according to Strikerz Inc.

“For the time being our project is coming to all major gaming consoles only (PS, Xbox). However, we may consider cloud Google Stadia and Amazon Luna in the future,” UFL told Bryant Chappel, the host and producer of The Nerf Report.
