The former BBC presenter’s alleged messages have been revealed
New messages that Jermaine Jenas reportedly sent to a junior make-up artist working at BT Sport have been leaked.
The 41-year-old ex-England international was sacked from his presenting jobs on The One Show and Match Of The Day after junior members of staff raised concerns over his behaviour.
According to the Daily Mail, Jenas allegedly sent messages to a woman who had started working for BT Sport in 2017 where he was emerging as a football pundit.
The Daily Mail reports that the woman told Jenas she had no interest in him and that she was in a relationship after he followed her on Instagram and began sending her messages.
His first message is reported to have said: “Any chance of a snog to fill some time?” He then, allegedly, sent her a video of his privates, the woman claims.
She says she then had to work with Jenas before he went on air, with him asking her if she had seen the messages.
The woman claims she told him that she had, but that she was not interested.
The following day was reportedly Jenas’ birthday, on which he allegedly asked her for a ‘birthday kiss’.
The woman then says she began to ignore Jenas, but the messages continued to come forward.
In one, he’s reported to have said: “Just come to my dressing room early and I’ll [perform a sex act]. That’s not cheating.” In another, Jenas allegedly messaged her: “Would you rather lay on your back while I [perform a sex act] or do you prefer it [another way]”.
The woman claims that the alleged messages made her feel uncomfortable going into work.
She says she approached her manager who was supportive and protective but just told her to ‘ignore him’.
Just last week, other messages emerged from when Jenas was reported to have sent a woman he met in Qatar an image of his manhood, while also requesting bikini pictures of her, per the Daily Mail.
The outlet reports that the woman involved was working for an events firm, and organised luxury parties.
She said that she first met Jenas in the restaurant of a hotel in Doha in December 2022 during the World Cup. It is believed Jenas strongly denies that the messages were unsolicited.
“I keep thinking these are pics of u when they arrive – when it arrives I’m like.. oh nice finally I get to see this body,” one message read.
In another thread of messages discussing a friend visiting her, Jenas reportedly wrote: “Ok… I mean I do wanna see u in a bikini so feel free to put her off for a day… u can’t blame me.”
“I can, but I won’t,” she replied, to which Jenas said: “You won’t what? Wear a bikini?”
“Lol good. I wanna see it now,” he reportedly added after she said she didn’t blame him.
“I’m working. And I’m not the type who sends pics. I hate it,” she replied.
“I know, but you know what it’s like when you’re away. Since I saw u it’s been on my mind, that’s all. I just like the tease,” he then reportedly responded.
Later on, Jenas allegedly invited her to go and see his ‘boy’ Calvin Harris.
She was confused by what he meant by ‘boy’, to which he reportedly responded with an image of him holding his manhood and a text reading: “Hang on. You want my boy now?”
“I was shocked, I felt violated,” the woman told the Daily Mail.
“The whole time I’d replied to his messages because I felt I had to, it was my job to bring in clients, but always keeping my distance and I said I wouldn’t send him the photos he wanted.
“Apart from that, we were in Qatar, where sex outside marriage is illegal. What he wanted could have got us locked up for seven years.
“But he kept insisting. I thought, you are shameless. And I told him let’s talk about this. He couldn’t control himself and sent me a photo of his penis.
“I didn’t reply and he later sent a message saying ‘Didn’t you like it?’ I still didn’t reply and after a few more messages he blocked me.”
After the World Cup ended, the woman returned home to England and has only now come forward following the allegations of ‘inappropriate messages’ that led to his sacking from the BBC.
A source close to Jenas told The Sun: “Jermaine completely denies these texts were unsolicited.
“They were between two consenting adults.”
His wife of 13 years, Ellie Penfold has said she will ‘stand by him for now’ but is said to be angry over the situation.
The former footballer, who enjoyed spells with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, previously told The Sun: “I haven’t slept properly since they told me, to be honest.
“I mean, the anxiety that builds up in your body over these types of things. I haven’t had any sleeping pills. I’ve just not been sleeping.”
The father-of-four continued: “You just kind of lay there, mind’s ticking over until you just pass out. Part of me would just rather go out and run until I collapse.”
He told the newspaper that he feels like he has ‘let everybody down – friends, family, colleagues’.
He said: “When I see Ellie most days, she just kind of gets up. She goes to make sure the children are OK. I feel ashamed. I feel I’ve let everybody down – friends, family, colleagues.”
He added: “I’m pretty much as low as I’ve ever been.”
Jenas told his former colleagues that he was ‘genuinely sorry’ as he issued a direct apology after he was allegedly told not to contact them due to ‘legal processes’.
The midfielder admitted to sending ‘inappropriate messages’ but claimed they were between ‘two consenting adults’ and insisted his behaviour was not illegal.
