The respect between the men is obvious for everyone to see.

Martin O’Neill was full of praise for his assistant Roy Keane in tonight’s post-match press conference.

The duo, dubbed the “dream team”, when appointed two years ago achieved their aim of qualifying for Euro 2016 with an impressive 2-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Following the game, O’Neill said that, for all his decisions in relation to selection, picking Keane as his deputy was best.

Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill celebrate 16/11/2015“The biggest decision was bringing Roy Keane in,” O’Neill said.

“He has been absolutely phenomenal. Phenomenal. I couldn’t be more delighted with him. He’s an iconic figure here, and sometimes he polarises opinion, (but) certainly not in the dressing room, and we’re all delighted with him.”

O’Neill went on to praise the other members of his backroom team, including Seamus McDonagh, Steve Walford and Steve Guppy, saying he “couldn’t be more pleased” with their contribution.
