Marcus Rashford is in for a huge pay increase after goalscoring heroics

Marcus Rashford’s life is about to change.

The 18-year-old striker has found the net five times since his Manchester United debut, earlier this month, and is now set to be rewarded for that.

Currently, the United academy player is on a weekly wage of £500.

That was never going to be the case as long as he proved that his four goal burst in his first two senior games was no fluke. He did just that with the winner in United’s derby day encounter with Manchester City.

Now, according to reports in England, Rashford is set to increase his salary 30 times over.

Rashford will be bumped up to £15,000-a-week with a performance clause inserted that will see the contracted revisited if he continues on with the senior squad, and surpasses set targets.

United also offered a similar deal to left-back Cameron Borthwick Jackson as they try to tie up their young talents before a summer of expected changes.

There has been no update on Michael Carrick or a fresh contract offer. Louis van Gaal is thought to be keen on retaining the 34-year-old’s services but the Dutchman may not have much say in proceedings beyond June.
