Manchester United vs. Manchester City: Marcos Rojo starts, Sergio Aguero on the bench

Kick-off fast approaching

SportsJOE

A month after winning their league encounter 2-1, Manchester City are back at Old Trafford this evening to face Manchester United in the Carli Capital On  EFL Cup.

Neither side are in top form heading into the match. United were pummelled 4-0 at Chelsea on Sunday whereas City’s early season winning streak has ended – Pep Guardiola’s side without a win in their last five matches.

With Eric Bailly injuring knee ligaments at the weekend, Luke Shaw comes back into the United lineup allowing Daley Blind to play at centre-half. There’s also no Chris Smalling, replaced by Marcos Rojo at the back. Yet again, there is no Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the United XI and Wayne Rooney remains out of the picture through injury. Anthony Martial also does not feature in the match squad.

As far as Manchester City are concerned, Kevin De Bruyne is unavailable and Sergio Aguero is named on the bench. Kelechi Iheanacho leads the line for City, with Leroy Sane and Jesus Navas either side of him. Vincent Kompany starts in defence with Aleix Garcia getting the nod from Pep Guardiola to start in midfield.

It’s all looking very promising ahead of the 173rd Manchester Derby. Who do you think will come up trumps?
