Manchester United snubbed by highly-rated youngster

SportsJOE

With Manchester United’s season rapidly becoming a write-off, thoughts are already turning towards which players may be Old Trafford bound in the summer.

While some will have you believe that Gareth Bale, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo are itching to pull on the red shirt, very few United supporters hold out any real hope of their club managing to attract such stellar names.

In fact, it seems even United’s plans to bring in a highly-rated Dutch youngster have also been dealt a blow.

There’s already plenty of hype around Feyenoord’s Tahith Chong, who impressed during the Premier Cup tournament that United hosted at their training complex last summer.

Despite confirming United’s interest, it seems that Chong will snub their advances in order to stay put in Rotterdam.

“Feyenoord is and remains my first choice and we are still negotiating,” Chong said, when speaking to Fr12.nl.

“It’s true that Manchester United are interested in me, but I want to just stay at Feyenoord. There is absolutely no question that I’m going out to the club.

“Feyenoord now has come up with a plan of how they see me in the coming years at the club.

“I am hopeful that it will be all right and that I’m going to sign a contract with Feyenoord.”
