Mourinho didn’t even have his feet under the desk, at Carrington, and United were linked with bringing in a tranche of new players.
The fun and games started early. In less than 24 hours, after his appointment, the English press had linked Mourinho’s United to 16 players:

From the above list, Sadio Mané is now a Liverpool player and Alvaro Morata has returned to Real Madrid from Juventus but may yet move on.
Mourinho would have expected a transfer war-chest and it looked as if he got it when Villarreal defender Eric Bailly was signed for £30m. The going was slow after that but United are expected to announce Henrik Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the coming days.
That may be the coming hours if Ibrahimovic gets his way.

The current United team has some star quality and promising youngsters but Mourinho will, no doubt, bolster the squad with steel, pace and guys who can pass the ball forward.
Were United to get even a fraction of the players currently being linked to them, their 2016/17 matchday squad would take some beating.

We’ve opted to leave Thomas Muller off the Dream Team as even we will never believe the German striker would leave Bayern Munich.
Also, someone should start linking United to goalkeepers because Sergio Romero ain’t going to cut it.
