All of a sudden, Manchester United are a marauding force down the left.
This is why United signed Shaw for £30m back in 2014. The left back was captured from Southampton to do some damage up the wings and shut up shop on his end.
Shaw has shown signs of potential but, for the most part, he has failed to live up to the price-tag.
This afternoon, as Bournemouth came to Old Trafford, Shaw was awarded his first league start in almost four months. He was named in the same team as returning veterans Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick.
He started like an absolute train and was in behind the Cherries defence and overlapping Anthony Martial up the left wing. He was also hurling himself into challenges, leaving Adam Smith in a bundle after one crunching 50/50 contest:
United supporters were mightily impressed with Shaw as he hit the ground running on his league return. Many noticed any extremely encouraging sign and one that could bode well for United in the closing months of the season.
The @LukeShaw23 and @AnthonyMartial link up is working.

But it was his physicality that got the most comments:
Good to see Luke Shaw go into a tackle like that. After an injury like that its hard to gain the confidence to take the impact. 💪

Andrew Surman had noted it too and got a measure of revenge on the England international.
Some game so far.
