Nicolas Otamendi is reportedly on the verge of joining Manchester City.
The Valencia central defender, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the transfer window, is set to cost City €40 million, with Eliaquim Mangala moving to the La Liga club on loan as part of the deal.
Spanish media outlet AS are reporting that Otamendi will be unveiled on Monday. The 27 year old Argentina international only joined Valencia last summer, and impressed in his one season at the Mestalla, scoring six goals, and was named in the La Liga Team of the Year.
However, Otamendi has reportedly pushed for a move in recent weeks, and told Valencia coach Nuno he wanted to be excluded from training.
Mangala, meanwhile, cost City almost €45 million, but failed to convince during City’s failed title defence last season.
Tomorrow all confirmed: Otamendi to City for €40m and Mangala on loan. Real Madrid would have paid €50m buy out clause if Ramos had gone
