Cue the inevitable jokes.
Manchester City had the fourth highest average attendance in the Premier League last season, but empty seats are a regular sight at the Etihad Stadium.
So much so, even Sky Sports poked fun at the no-shows for a game last month.

City fans would most likely claim they’ve a strong, passionate and large support base, and would undoubtedly dispute suggestions that they struggle to fill their ground.
However, their argument won’t be helped by this scene from Sky’s Soccer AM this morning.

Each week, the show invites on fans from different clubs, usually a team that is playing in London that weekend.
Today it was turn of travelling City fans, in the capital for the game against West Ham, to take their place on the Soccer AM bench and engage in some painful banter.
However, there were only seven City fans in attendance and they couldn’t fill their allocation.

These City fans on Soccer AM? I'm sure I recognise some of them from when Chelsea fans were on a few years ago!
