You would have thought that Victor Valdes had had enough of Manchester.
The Spanish goalkeeper endured an awful time at Old Trafford after signing on a free transfer in 2015.
Valdes played a grand total of two games before being frozen out by Louis van Gaal, ostracised from the first team and sent on loan to Standard Liege.
It didn’t get much better for Valdes in Belgium and the 34 year old is currently looking for a new club. One would have thought he’s had enough of warming the bench in Manchester, but apparently not.
According to Sid Lowe, Pep Guardiola is interested in taking the former Barcelona goalkeeper to City.
Lowe writes on Spanish football for a number of publications, so the story is well sourced, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Valdes link up again with his former manager.
However, after playing just nine games in the past two years, it would be a shock if he was to start ahead of Joe Hart as City’s number one stopper.
