It is no secret that Ruben Amorim is badly in search of and in need of signings to boost his squad with players that fit his 3-4-3 system, and hopefully stop the rot.
Despite a mini false dawn after three impressive results, Man United were brought back down to earth in their 3-1 loss to Brighton on Sunday.
After the game Amorim made a remarkable statement about the state of the side: "In [the past] 10 games in Premier League, we won two. Imagine what this is for a fan of Manchester United. Imagine what this is for me.
"We are getting a new coach who is losing more than the last coach. I have full knowledge of that.
"We are the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United. I know you [media] want headlines but I am saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. Here you go: your headlines."
One of the positions where United are looking to add options is left wing-back.
The right-footed Diogo Dalot has been used in this position as has right back Noussair Mazraoui, while Tyrell Malacia is still not full 100% after an 18-month stint out of the game with a knee injury.
Enter Patrick Dorgu, a Danish full back who currently plays for Lecce in Serie A.
The 20-year-old has won four caps for his country, and the left wing-back would also be a cheaper option than their £60 million first-choice, Paris Saint-Germain's Nuno Mendes.
Miguel Delaney of the Independent is also reporting that they are also eyeing Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, as well as his teammate Matheus Cunha.
Striker Cunha has had a magnificent season so far, with the Brazilian scoring 10 league goals.
