Jurgen Klopp may need to put his powers of persuasion to the test early on in his Liverpool tenure, with teenage star Jerome Sinclair linked with a move away.
The forward, who became Liverpool’s youngest ever player at 16 years and 6 days when he made his debut in 2012, has emerged as a target for Manchester City.
Sinclair is out of contract in the summer, and has also been courted by Luis Suarez’s former club Groningen.
Now 19, the Birmingham-born player has seen his progress hit by injuries, but made his Premier League debut under Brendan Rodgers at the tail-end of last season.
The Daily Mirror report that City have sent scouts to watch Liverpool’s under-21s, potentially with a view to moving for another Liverpool youngster following the big-money signing of Raheem Sterling.
It is thought that the Reds opened contract talks with Sinclair over the summer, but were unable to tie him down to a longer deal.
