Man City ditch Nike to agree huge new kit deal with Puma

The second biggest kit deal in Premier League history

City have agreed a 10-year deal worth £650 million.

Manchester City have agreed a staggering new kit deal with PUMA, who will replace Nike as their official kit supplier.

Running for ten years, City Football Group will reportedly make £65m-a-season from the deal, which applies to the Premier League champions and four of their sister clubs.

This represents a significant increase on City’s current kit deal with Nike, which is said to net them around £20m a year.

Though initial discussions with PUMA focused on making kits just for City, the Daily Mail report that other clubs under the CFG umbrella – Girona, Melbourne City, Uruguay’s Atletico Torque and newly acquired Chinese club, Sichuan Jiuniu – were later incorporated into the deal.

Though it may apply to five clubs, the deal is still the second largest in Premier League history – bettered only by Manchester United’s £75m-a-season deal with adidas, which was began in 2015.

“We want to maximise on-field performance as well as football culture, in areas such as music, gaming and fashion to connect and inspire the fanbase of each team.”

City, who have been playing in Nike kits in recent years, will wear PUMA from the start of next season.
