F*** your precautionary measure, just tell us the truth!!
England will go into their first World Cup Qualifier with Danny Rose as left-back, but that is another matter entirely.
Luke Shaw will not play against Slovakia tomorrow and is returning to Manchester United for a medical check, and some light training.
Earlier today, Shaw was excused from training and young Arsenal defender Tafari Moore stepped in as a replacement. A statement from the English FA read:
“All but one member of Sam Allardyce’s 23-man were involved in the session, with Luke Shaw sitting out as England’s medical staff look to manage the workload of a player who missed the majority of last season with a broken leg.”
Then, a couple of hours later, another update was issued and Shaw was flying home. The second release read:
“Luke Shaw has left the England camp and returned to Manchester United. The left-back was rested from training at St George’s Park this morning, with the medical team continuing to manage his workload.
“With Danny Rose set to start against Slovakia in Trnava tomorrow night, Shaw has been allowed to return to Manchester to train with his club as a precautionary measure. Sam Allardyce’s remaining 22 players all travelled out to Slovakia this afternoon.”
With the Manchester Derby up next weekend, many fans are ignoring the precaution talk and hitting the panic button:
