Lucas Moura starts to cry after watching the replay of his match winner

Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura began to well up after watching a replay of his match winning goal against Ajax on Wednesday.

Moura banged in the second hat-trick of his season in Amsterdam with his third and final goal sending Spurs through to the first Champions League final in the club’s history.

A last minute corner by Spurs looked to have been cleared by Ajax only for the north Londoners to work the ball back up the pitch before England midfielder Dele Alli slipped Moura through on goal with the Brazilian making no mistake, tucking the ball away into the bottom right corner.

Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen called for a statue of Moura to be erected outside Spurs new stadium while the man himself said that the third goal was the best moment of his career thus far.

“Always believe in this moment,” he said. “We gave everything on the pitch and deserved this moment – we are family. Everyone worked really hard.

“It’s difficult to play here against Ajax but I always believed in my team-mates. Football is amazing – it gives us a moment like this. We cannot imagine. It’s the best moment in my career.”
